The dinner table is a place where ideas, experiences, and possibility sit like guests waiting for a meal. This principle accompanies my events, where I look to design spaces for connection, curiosity, and the sharing of experience. My work centers on noticing and making place. Not only do my events and writings act as an invitation to witness and wander, but I hope my practice serves as inspiration for others to do the same — or at least imagine what might happen when invitations are extended and new perspectives are considered.
My writings reveal some of the intentions that accompany my events. Layered and unfolding, the texture of each is a product of the space and the people who gather there. While these moments cannot be captured and are not documented, I attempt to trace these experiences through thoughtful observation and analysis.
You’ll often find me wrestling with assumptions and the inevitable unexpected that occurs when strangers meet. I dive into some of the ethical questions associated with hosting and attempt to record some of the decisions that impact these experiences. As I draw inspiration from other artists and mentors who have shaped my work, I look to embrace uncertainty and welcome the ephemeral as necessary ingredients to create magic.
